Character Development with Shakirah Bourne was a gift that once opened you know you will use it over and over again. I gained good insight that can help my children stories take on full life.

Excellent workshop. Shakirah has always impressed me. Way back, when she read one of her short stories (aloud, duh) at an event, I knew this was a talent to watch. Little did I know that she would also become a clear, concise and inspiring teacher. Today's session provided a key to fixing something I find missing in some of my own work. I'm so grateful. I went straight to work on it.

Today's Character Development session was a succinct yet incredibly resourceful workshop! I learned more in two hours today with Shakirah than I learned in the five-day workshop I took last year in New York. It was well-organized and well-paced, and our hosts were so warm. I can't wait to take another session with the Writer's Clinic!

The Character Development session was short and sweet. I am more of a writer than a reader. I never read a book 🙈 but Shakirah's delivery and content makes me interested in joining a book club to analyse character development.

This was my first Writer's Clinic session and I did not know what to expect and left in awe of Shakirah's brillance. I can't wait to attend many more. Thank you NCF team!

There's always a special magic when creatives get together. Today's session with Shakirah was entertaining, insightful and motivational whether you were hearing it for the first time or as a refresher. Shakirah is a Barbadian gem, who shares from the heart. I left the session with a smile on my face, and quite a few practical tips to motivate me on my writing journey. Thanks so much Shakirah!! Shakira, this is one of the workshops listed for the year that I didn’t want to miss. You did not disappoint. Rather you surpassed. I am even more equipped to finalize my book and will look at my manuscript through a new lense. What also made a difference was how you incorporated examples from your book. Excellent job! Nailah and Karra I have been on this journey with you for a year and the sessions keep getter better and better. Keep them coming NCF.❤️

I THROUGHLY enjoyed today's session (Which doesn't mean that I didn't enjoy previous ones) Shakirah was well prepared and presented in a way to answer any questions the writer would have about character development. I came to the session with a plethora of questions, having been sent to revisit the characters in my book and I did not have to pose a single one because they were answered in the presentation. Thank you so much Shakirah and excellent work NCF!

This workshop is so what I needed right now on my writing journey. I feel you holding me my writing hand and encouraging me to step out. Be bigger than I ever dreamed I could be. Thanks NCF this is truly a clinic that you go into and come out healed and inspired.

I thoroughly enjoyed this session, which kept me riveted from beginning to end. I must confess, I would have sat through an additional two hours of this presentation. Shakirah catered to novices/experts and provided us with the motivation to get cracking on our own works. I would suggest she be invited again to conduct an advanced session on this subject matter. Excellent job!

This was a very enlightening workshop. Shakirah was excellent in breaking down the process with practical examples that was very useful.
